Can I edit a published beat?

Yes — every field stays editable after publishing, including audio. Here's exactly what changes and what stays locked.

Updated June 26, 2026

Short answer: yes, almost everything is editable. Even after a sale, you can replace audio files, change pricing, swap the cover, and update the metadata. The only thing you can't do is permanently delete a beat that's been sold. Follow these five steps to make changes.

Quick note on what's not on the edit page. Scheduling, free download settings, and YouTube Sync only appear on the upload form — they're set when you first publish. Everything else can be changed below.

1. Open the edit page#

On the My beats page, click the ⋯ menu on the beat row and choose Edit.

You'll land on /my-content/beats/edit/[slug] titled Edit Beat.

2. Change metadata, cover, or files#

The edit form shows the same Information and files, Metadata, Monetization, and Collaborators sections you saw at upload. Everything is editable:

  • Title, description, cover artwork — update freely.
  • Master Track, Preview Track, Stem Files — click the row to replace any of them. The old file is deleted from S3 and the new one takes its place.
  • Key, BPM, tags, genres, moods, instruments — change anytime.
  • Section markers — add, edit, or remove timeline chapters.

Buyers' download links always point to the latest file — when you replace a master track, anyone who purchased the beat downloads the new version on their next download.

3. Adjust monetization tiers#

In the Monetization card you can:

  • Change prices on any tier — applies to new sales only; existing buyers keep their original contract.
  • Disable a tier by toggling it off — even if that tier has past sales. Past buyers still have their licenses.
  • Enable a new tier that was off before.

There is no validation block on disabling sold tiers, and existing leaseholders are not notified.

4. Save your changes#

Click Save changes in the top-right header.

Edits take effect immediately on the marketplace. No notification is sent to past buyers for any edit — if you make a significant change you want them to know about (e.g. swapping a stem pack), reach out directly.

5. Or move to drafts / delete the beat#

From the ⋯ menu on the My beats row:

  • Move to drafts — hides the beat from the marketplace. Past buyers still have their downloads. You can re-publish any time from the edit page. Confirmation: "Move this beat to drafts? It will be hidden from the store. You can permanently delete it later from the Drafts tab."
  • Delete forever — only appears on archived (drafts) beats. If the beat has any sales, you'll see "This product has sales and can't be deleted — buyers still need their downloads. Contact an admin to remove it." If you really need it gone, submit a ticket.

To re-publish an archived beat, open the edit page and click Publish beat in the header.
